Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into the harvest (Luke 10:2).  At Macedonia Baptist Church, we know the difference between volunteers and servants. Volunteers only labor for a short amount of time, and often their labor is more self-serving than God and people- serving. Servants, however, serve God and people with conviction. God makes real servants at Macedonia, because the harvest is still great.

The Teaching Ministry:

The teaching ministry at Macedonia begins each Sunday morning at Sunday School. Our classes begin at 9:30 a.m. for all age groups. Our visitors are  always welcome.  Our main Sunday School class is held in our Chapel. We also have specialized classes  for  adult women and men. We have classes from toddlers to teens as well. All of our teachers are trained and well equipped in the Word of God.

Bible Study classes are held each Wednesday at 1:00 pm and 7:00 p.m. Both classes are held in Fellowship Hall and are are taught by our Pastor.

Prayer Ministry:

It is the personal ministry for every member of the Macedonia Baptist Church to become a prayer warrior. We must, with persistent prayer, call on the name of the Lord. We pray for our pastor, our church, our families, our city, the sick, our nation, our president, etc. A prayer service is held each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in our Chapel. All are welcome.

Women’s & Men’s Ministries:

The Women’s Ministry meets each month to advance and enhance the direction of women in our church with specialized ministry and fellowship. The Men’s Ministry meets each month for the purpose of helping men to understand their God-appointed responsibility. The days and times of these meetings are noted in the weekly church bulletin.

Music Ministry:

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. We have gifted musicians and choir directors who strive to create a genuine atmosphere of praise and worship. We have a Children’s Choir, (Angelic Choir) a Youth Choir, (Voices of Praise) a Male Chorus, a specialized Choir (Inspiration Choir) an Adult Choir (Gospel Chorus) and a Mass Choir. Rehearsal times are listed in our Sunday church bulletin.

Usher and Courtesy Ministry:

The Usher and Courtesy teams at Macedonia Baptist Church fill important roles.  They are involved in welcoming guest and members, directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The Usher Team and Courtesy Team are  servant-hearted groups of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology:

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Macedonia Baptist Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication. In addition, we have a Media Center with online computers and Library with  literature with a variety of Christian subjects.

Marriage Counseling:

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at Macedonia Baptist Church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.
