The Burden, The Battle and The Blessing (2019)
Series: CDT Sermons

Scripture Text: Joshua 8: 13-14

In this message, we hear the story of Achan and his disobedience to God. His greed and ultimate disobedience was the cause the Israel's defeat at Ai. If Achan had just waited on the Lord's plan, he would have received more than what he had stolen.

The message applies to us today. Instead of consulting with God, we take matters into our own hands and end up straying from God's plan. The good news is that God is able to bring victory to our lives in spite of our disobedience. The key, however, is we must repent. As you listen to this sermon, remember to leave the burden of sin and follow God's battle plan to reap the benefit of His blessing!

Right Conduct In a Wrong World – Pt. 4 (2019)
    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: Romans 12: 17-21

In the final installment of this series, Pastor Twymon reminds us that proper Christian conduct involves renewing our minds daily. We must be intentional about breaking away from the pattern of this world.  This is especially true when it comes to retaliation toward others. Our goal, when wronged, should not be to get even, but this is an opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ in our lives.

It is our prayer that this series of messages is a blessing and help to you.  The changing power of God makes us new creations, and it is only fitting that we conduct ourselves in alignment with God's Word.  Our right conduct is the conduit in which we share the loving message of Jesus Christ to the lives of unbelievers.

    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: Romans 12: 9-16

Have you ever been to a church that seems unfriendly?  Or have you been to church where the body of believers seem generally unhappy and unloving towards each other?

In the third installment of this series, Pastor Twymon addresses Christian conduct as it pertains to love for each other.  From our youth, our minds have been shaped by the world's take on love.  This diluted view of love has negatively impacted the church and how we treat each other.  We, as believers, must break away from the world's view and love the way that God commands. True love is demonstrated by the example God gave us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Enjoy this powerful message from Pastor Twymon as he expounds on Christian conduct. We pray that this message will be a blessing and encourage you.  All gifts, great or small, come from the Most High God!

    Scripture Text: Matthew 7: 21-23

In this chapter of Matthew, Jesus teaches that a tree is known by the fruit it bears. This same principle holds true for those who profess to be Christians. We must show the fruit of the Spirit in our own lives. If you aren't showing signs of bearing this fruit, you must ask the more important question: "Am I really a Christian?".   Unfortunately, their are many who look like Christians but have not truly given their lives to Christ.

Tune in to this very powerful message as Pastor Twymon warns us to take a self-inventory of our faith and beliefs.  The one thing you don't want to hear God say is "I never knew you"... Take heed and examine yourself before it's too late.

    Scripture Text: 1 Timothy 2: 8-15

In the final installment of this sermon series, we take a look at the roles of men and women in the church. Throughout the history of the Christianity, women have been integral in its growth. However, the growing liberal movement of our society has infiltrated the church and has blurred the gender lines. So what is the role of the woman in the church?

    Scripture Text: Acts 5: 1-5

In our 6th installment of this series, Pastor Twymon takes us on a journey to the early church. The classic story in Acts about a couple who lied about their offering to God. The act of giving is a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to supporting the ministry of Christ. However, the motives behind how you give can have a detrimental impact... even to the point of death.

Take a listen as our Pastor eloquently uses this passage in a way that we can apply it to our lives today. Think about your motivations behind your giving. You don't want to do a right thing, in a wrong way.

    Scripture Text: 2 Samuel 6: 5-8

Part 5 of this sermon series takes us to tragic story of Uzzah. Uzzah was a man who of good intentions, however, his bad actions led to his ultimate demise. In the church today, many well-intended people do what is right in their own eyes in spite of what the Word of God teaches. This has, no doubt, led to a lot of confusion we see in church community throughout the years.

Take a close listen to Pastor Twymon as he carefully explains that God has no tolerance for disobedience. Even the most noblest of intentions, if not in line with God's Word, will lead to judgment and wrath. Examine your intentions and make sure they are rooted in God's precepts.

...What happens, when someone's zeal for leadership in the church does not come from a genuine place?  Listen to this powerful message, as Pastor shows how the attitudes of the Israelites is much like the attitudes of people in the church today. Do not let your desire to be in the forefront taint the divinely appointed position God may have for you.

    Scripture Text: Genesis 16 1-6

In the third installment of this message, Pastor Twymon picks up our journey at Abram's house...

What happens when you receive a promise from God but it doesn't work well with your own timeline? Most will take matters into their own hands, which is exactly what happens in this passage. The end result of that decision will impact 2 nations (Jews and Arabs) for generations to come.

Tune your heart and mind to this powerful lesson as we begin to see the significance of what it means to "wait on the Lord". God's plans are not contingent on our individual schedules, and when we forget that, dire consequences are at hand.
