The Christian Workout (2020)
Series: CDT Sermons

Scripture Text: 1 Tim 4:7-8

Any effective exercise regimen will cause fatigue, uncomfortable feelings and muscle soreness (especially in the case of those new to working out). However, these side effects are necessary for the body to grow stronger and change into the shape that we desire.

In order for Christians to grow stronger in faith, we must workout our salvation as the Bible commands. As we workout our faith in this life, we will experience many of the same side effects of exercise... fatigue, uncomfortable feelings and even pain.

Tune in as Pastor Twymon expounds on this thought, and gives us the keys to an effective Christian workout. Remember that our sufferings in this life cannot be compared to the glory God has for us in heaven!

    Oh To Be Kept (2020)
    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: John 17: 9-12

To be a "kept" man or woman is to be dependent on someone else through financial means.  In contrast, a "kept" Christian is completely dependent on God for everything in life and not merely material gain.  God keeps us by His power through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  In times as troubling as these, it is important that we are in God's capable keeping hands.

Tune in as Pastor Twymon further explains the benefit of being kept by an Almighty God. His forgiving grace has saved us from a state of total depravity to a life of salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ.

    Scripture Text: 2 Timothy 2:19-21

Believe it or not, God has used our life's hardships and experiences to prepare us for upcoming trials. Even now, through, this pandemic and rise of social unrest, God is using these trying times to prepare us and teach us. Our preparation is not just for facing trials, but He prepares our hearts and minds to be set on our eternity in heaven.

Tune in as Pastor Twymon expounds on this thought of preparation. For the believer, to be with Jesus in heaven is our ultimate destination. Are you prepared to meet the Lord when the time comes? If not, there is time... but tomorrow is not promised.

    Scripture Text: 2 Samuel 9:11-13

When was the last time you have shown an act of kindness to someone else? Can you recall the last time you committed a selfless act in the name of our Savior? It is during the time of crisis, you will see the best (and worse) of people. It is important for us, as Christians, to be mindful to demonstrate grace and kindness towards others because of the grace and mercy that has been extended to us.

Tune in as Pastor Twymon expounds on this thought with the example of King David's kindness towards Mephibosheth. King David demonstrated the same grace that Jesus Christ has given to us. Thank God for His grace and mercy!

    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: John 6:64-71

Now, more than ever, we are facing waves of misinformation from our media and social outlets. Our search for truth on political, social and religious issues are often met with countless opinions and misguided information. So where do we go to find truth?

In Pastor Twymon's sermon, we find that Jesus' disciples understood that absolute Truth was staring them right in the face. So when Jesus asked his disciples if they will leave Him, they asked the perfect question in response... "To whom shall we go?". As you tune in to this message, remember that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of truth. He is the one that can navigate us through the weeds of misinformation into the perfect clarity of His Salvation.

    Scripture Text: Daniel 3:16-18

Everyday we are bombarded with information meant to mold our point of view. Whether conservative or liberal, there is no shortage of propaganda geared to influence our social and spiritual outlook. Christians must be diligent and mindful on keeping the Word of God as our central point of view.

Pastor Twymon is very intentional on reminding us that we must take a stand on the Word of God and refrain from allowing the world to influence our thoughts. Just like the Hebrew Boys understood, we can confidently take a stand for righteousness because we serve an able God!

    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: Joshua 6:20

In life, we face many obstacles and trials that can often discourage us. The troubles of life can lead to discouragement, sorrow and depression for many.  It is very rare that you would see someone excited or happy during a time of trouble.  As believers, we should have a different outlook on life's turmoil.  "Christian life is not waiting for the storm to pass, but it's learning how to dance in the rain."

Tune in as Pastor Twymon uses the story of Israel and Jericho to illustrate the principle of facing the walls of life. As believers, we can shout while in the midst of our circumstances because we know that God gets the victory in the end.

In addition to the gift of salvation, Jesus gives us the precious gift of being able to communicate with God the Father. It is by the name of Jesus that we have access to The Father in prayer. The Bible also tells us of a time when everyone must confess the name of Jesus Christ as Lord.

    The Cost Of Freedom (2020)
    Series: CDT Sermons
    Scripture Text:  John 8:30-36

The 4th of July commemorates our country's declared freedom from the rule of Britain in 1776.  That freedom came at the price of countless lives that died on many war torn battlefields.  Freedom is not free, it comes at a cost.

In contrast to political freedom, our Christian freedom is not found in independence. Rather, we celebrate our dependence on the Most High God.  We invite you to tune in as Pastor Twymon expounds on this thought.  The good news is that we are not required to pay this price ourselves.  Jesus Christ paid for our freedom in full by shedding his precious blood.

    Remain Faithful (2020)
    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: 2 Timothy 3: 13-17

Many have spent weeks at home during the quarantine. This time has allowed people to work on self-improvement in various areas. As Christians, the increased time at home is a great opportunity to deepen our connection with God through His Word. For families, this is a very teachable moment to children about Jesus Christ and His love for us.

Tune in as Pastor Twymon emphasizes this message to the congregation. No matter what stage of life we are entering, we must remain faithful in our Christian walk through God's Word. Individual devotion and prayer will prepare us for the earthly battle that lies ahead.

A Check Up From The Neck Up (2020)
    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: Romans 12:1-2

We are bombarded with popular opinion in media today. Whether through news or social media, we are constantly being told what to think and how to act. The Bible commands us, as Christians, to renew our minds... or as Pastor Twymon puts it, we need a "check up from the neck up"!

We invite you to take a listen as our Pastor explains the process of salvation and how our sanctification critically depends upon what we feed our hearts and minds. Medical check ups are important for our physical health, but a spiritual check up is necessary for our souls.

    Scripture Text: Titus 3:1-7

In light of the recent riots and protests going on around the world, one cannot help but feel a host of emotions. As Christians, we cannot allow our emotions take us back to a place in our lives where sin was once prevalent.

In today's message, Pastor Twymon gives us a very candid view of his own personal struggle to maintain a Godly life in Christ.  As you listen, keep in mind that we have been given the power to overcome the flesh and this world through God's grace.  Always advancing, we must not go back!

    The Other Brother (2020)
    Series: CDT Sermons

    Scripture Text: Luke 15: 25-32

The social tension is at an all time high with riots and protests in response to the death of George Floyd.  When social injustices take place, it is easy for us to feel emotions of anger.  However, misplaced anger can be very dangerous in the life of a Christian.

We invite you to listen to this message from Pastor Twymon as he expounds on this thought in the passage of the prodigal son. Instead of shining the spotlight on the wayward son, we take a close look at his brother.  As you listen, think of God's unlimited grace and mercy through His son Jesus Christ.  Salvation is available for all who will repent and surrender to the Master.
